The Austin Air Allergy Machine filters your air using a unique HEPA/HEGA combination technology. Instead of the 15 lbs of granular carbon used in Austin Air’s other models, the Allergy Machine uses a lightweight carbon cloth called HEGA which stands for High Efficiency Gas Absorption. This special layer of filtration is effective at neutralizing many of the triggers that can lead to symptoms in allergy and asthma sufferers.

The Allergy Machine continuously pulls air into the purifying system from every side of the unit. It passes through the 4-stage HEPA/HEGA combination filter and is blown back out into your room using the Clean Air Pocket vent. Because this medical-grade purification system cleans air faster and more efficiently than conventional air purifiers, you’ll enjoy longer lasting relief from mild to severe allergy and asthma symptoms.

4-Stage Comprehensive Filtration

Four separate filter layers process the incoming air and systematically remove 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns and 95% of particles larger than 0.1 microns, ultimately eliminating 3,000 types of toxic gases, particulates and odors. The 4-stage filtration system includes:

1. PERMAFILT Pre-Filter: Large particles like dust, hair, and pet dander are captured in this pre-filter stage. It’s both cleanable and reusable.
2. Medium Particle Filter: Mold, pollen, and dust mites are trapped in stage two of the filtration system.
3. Medical-Grade HEPA Filter: 60-square-feet of medical-grade HEPA filtration rids the air of harmful bacteria, viruses, pollen, mycotoxins, pet dander, dust, and ragweed particulates. Ability to trap 99.97% of particles that are as small as .03 microns.
4. HEGA Filter: Made of military-grade activated carbon, the HEGA (High Efficiency Gas Absorption) cloth absorbs VOC’s, chemicals, gases, fumes and odors.

A powerful centrifugal fan and an all-steel outer body are constructed to last, while the Permanent-Split Capacitor (PSC) motor is rated for continuous use at high RPMs and is mounted on shock absorbers to minimize noise. This enables the filter to draw less current, reduce operating costs by 50 percent, and minimize noise compared to other air purifiers, all while functioning like new for years to come.
