The Austin Air HealthMate Plus is built exactly like the original HealthMate, however the Plus model features a more absorbent carbon filter designed for those with severe chemical sensitivities. It’s also recommended for those living and working in environments where harmful chemicals are present. The HelathMate Plus has the ability to neutralize heavier VOC’s and a wide range of chemical vapors and particulates, including formaldehyde, ammonia, various gases and tobacco smoke. 

The Austin Air HealthMate Plus continuously pulls air into the filtration system from every side of the unit. It passes through a 4-stage HEPA/carbon combination filter and is blown back out into your room using the Clean Air Pocket vent. Because this medical-grade purification system cleans air faster and more efficiently than conventional air purifiers, you’ll enjoy quick, long-lasting relief from your symptoms, with an indoor air environment free from harmful contaminants and pollutants.

4-Stage Comprehensive Filtration

Four separate filter layers process incoming air and systematically remove 99.97% of all particles down to 0.3 microns and 95% of particles larger than 0.1 microns, ultimately eliminating 3,000 types of toxic gases, particulates and odors. The 4-stage filtration system includes:

• PERMAFILT Pre-Filter: Large particles, like dust, hair, and pet dander, are captured in this pre-filter stage. Cleanable and reusable. 
• Medium Particle Filter: Mold, pollen, and dust mites are trapped in stage two of the filtration system.
• 15 lbs Carbon /Zeolite with Potassium Iodide: 15 pounds of activated carbon and natural zeolite is impregnated with potassium iodide for increased adsorption of odors, chemicals, gasses, fumes, and VOCs — including formaldehyde and ammonia.
• Medical-Grade HEPA Filter: 60-square-feet of medical-grade HEPA filtration rids the air of harmful bacteria, viruses, pollen, mold, pet dander, dust, and ragweed particles. Ability to trap 99.97% of particles that are as small as .03 microns.

A powerful centrifugal fan and an all-steel outer body are constructed to last, while the Permanent-Split Capacitor (PSC) motor is rated for continuous use at high RPMs and is mounted on shock absorbers to minimize noise. This enables the filter to draw less current, reduce operating costs by 50 percent, and minimize noise compared to other air purifiers, all while functioning like new for years to come.
