Airpura F600DLX – Ultimate Formaldehyde & VOC Removal

Formaldehyde has been classified as a ‘probable human carcinogen’ by the EPA, meaning frequent exposure is considered a health risk, and can be the cause of myriad adverse health effects. 

The Airpura F600DLX was specifically engineered for maximum removal of formaldehyde, VOC’s and airborne chemicals, and therefore is highly recommended for any residence, workshop or commercial space where formaldehyde and other chemical pollutants are a concern. Featuring an extra large 26 lb, 3” deep bed of activated potassium permanganate carbon, along with a HEPA barrier post filter, the F600DLX is equipped for advanced, heavy-duty chemical abatement.  

Formaldehyde is often present in modern day building materials such as pressed wood, carpet and new furniture, which can negatively affect the air quality of any indoor space that has just been built, or that has been newly renovated. It will also off-gas from building materials for many years after construction is complete.

The Airpura F600DLX is suitable for use in a variety of air quality scenarios, including residential and office use, as well as for those in close proximity to refineries, incinerators and construction sites where formaldehyde and other chemical byproducts exist as part of day to day operations.

The Airpura F600DLX absorbs and traps the following from your environment in spaces up to 2000 sq. ft:

• Formaldehyde: Formaldehyde is a toxin that is hazardous on a variety of levels. More mild effects are irritation of the skin, eyes, nose, and throat, but it has also been implicated in the cause of severe illness including cancer. 
• Airborne Chemicals: The F600DLX will filter out a wide spectrum of airborne chemicals and particulates including ammonia, toluene, pesticides and benzene. 
• Common Household VOCs: Many manufactured household items contain various amounts of volatile organic compounds. Plastic products, adhesives, cleaners, paints and construction materials all release these harmful chemicals into the air. This can lead to minor symptoms such as headache and nausea, yet may also have significant adverse health effects including severe respiratory issues.

3-Stage Comprehensive Filtration:

1. Pre-Filter — Grabs and traps large particles such as hair, lint, dust and dander, and in doing so extends the life of the HEPA and carbon filters. Measures 570 sq. inches and 1 inch deep. Change every 12 months and vacuum clean for better performance.
2. Carbon Filter – Extra large 26 lbs. 3” deep activated carbon bed enhanced with potassium permanganate to target formaldehyde and other heavy chemicals and VOC’s.
3. HEPA-Barrier Post-Filter – 306 sq. in. HEPA barrier traps both carbon dust and additional airborne particulates. Can last up to two years, but ideally should be changed with each change of the carbon filter.

• No Off-Gassing: Built without the use of plastics, rubbers, or adhesives associated with emitting toxic gasses or VOC’s. The only exceptions include the presence of some materials required to meet UL, ETL, CE and CSA safety standards.

• Felt Gaskets: All gaskets are made from felt instead of rubber, which helps seal each component and create highly effective air filtration. Felt gaskets have the ability to further reduce off-gassing as well. Additionally, these units have fully sealed filter, motor, and electrical chambers.

• Metal Housing: Constructed entirely from solid steel on the outside, the reduction of plastic components in favor of metal housing contributes to the decrease in off-gassing. The all metal housing is also a more environmentally friendly material in general as it’s 93% recyclable.

• PCB Free: Electrical equipment often includes capacitors that are made from PCBs; polychlorinated biphenyls. PCBs have been associated with a variety of types of cancers. Airpura capacitors are all made with entirely PCB-free materials.

• Pure Air Flow: Engineered so that the units motor is positioned away from the flow of air. Most air purifiers are designed in a way that as air passes over the motor, new impurities are picked up before exiting the unit. Airpura air purifiers were designed to prevent this.
