Airpura F600 – Removal of Formaldehyde, VOC’s and Particulates

The Airpura F600 features an 18 lb, 2” deep bed of activated carbon impregnated with potassium permanganate, and combined with True HEPA filtration. Specifically engineered to remove formaldehyde, VOC’s and airborne chemicals from any residence, work or commercial space where these pollutants are a concern. 

Formaldehyde is often present in modern day building materials, which can negatively affect the air quality of any indoor space that has just been built, or that has been newly renovated. Formaldehyde is also a natural byproduct of combustion, so burning wood or using kerosine and gasoline can produce elevated levels.

There are many commercial applications for the Airpura F600 such as working in or near refineries, incinerators and on construction sites where formaldehyde and other chemical byproducts exist as part of day to day operations. The F600 model is also suitable for use in the home where formaldehyde and other chemical exposures are a concern.

The Airpura F600 absorbs and traps the following from your environment – up to 2000 sq. ft:

• Formaldehyde: Formaldehyde is a toxin that is hazardous on a variety of levels. More mild effects are irritation of the skin, eyes, nose, and throat, but it has also been implicated in the cause of severe illness including cancer. 
• Airborne Chemicals: The F600 will filter out a wide spectrum of airborne chemicals and particulates including ammonia, toluene, pesticides and benzene. 
• Common VOCs: Many manufactured household items contain various amounts of volatile organic compounds. Plastic products, adhesives, cleaners, and construction materials all release these harmful chemicals into the air. This can lead to minor symptoms such as headache and nausea, yet may also have significant adverse health effects including respiratory issues and cancer.

3-Stage Comprehensive Filtration – Including F614 Super HEPA Upgrade Option:

1. Pre-Filter – This first layer of filtration grabs and traps large particles such as hair, dust and dander,  and in doing so extends the life of the HEPA and carbon filters. It measures 570 sq. inches and 1 inch deep. Change this filter every 12 months for use in commercial spaces; can be vacuumed for better performance. 
2. Carbon Filter – 18 lbs. of activated carbon in a 2” deep, high-quality carbon bed. It includes enhanced potassium permanganate, explicitly targeting formaldehyde and other heavy chemicals and VOC’s.
3. True HEPA Filter — Choose Between Standard & Super HEPA Filtration:
   • F600 Standard HEPA: Equipped with a 40 square foot medical-grade True HEPA filter, the F700 is able to trap up to 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns in size. Has a lifespan of approximately 5 years.
   • F614 Super HEPA: Upgrade to the F614 Super HEPA filter to remove up to 99.99% of airborne particles that are 0.3 microns in size. This is the recommended option for MCS sufferers (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity) or those looking to capture the smallest of airborne particulates.

• No Off-Gassing: Built without the use of plastics, rubbers, or adhesives associated with emitting toxic gasses or VOC’s. The only exceptions include the presence of some materials required to meet UL, ETL, CE and CSA safety standards.

• Felt Gaskets: All gaskets are made from felt instead of rubber, which helps seal each component and create highly effective air filtration. Felt gaskets have the ability to further reduce off-gassing as well. Additionally, these units have fully sealed filter, motor, and electrical chambers.

• Metal Housing: Constructed entirely from solid steel on the outside, the reduction of plastic components in favor of metal housing contributes to the decrease in off-gassing. The all metal housing is also a more environmentally friendly material in general as it’s 93% recyclable.

• PCB Free: Electrical equipment often includes capacitors that are made from PCBs; polychlorinated biphenyls. PCBs have been associated with a variety of types of cancers. Airpura capacitors are all made with entirely PCB-free materials.

• Pure Air Flow: Engineered so that the units motor is positioned away from the flow of air. Most air purifiers are designed in a way that as air passes over the motor, new impurities are picked up before exiting the unit. Airpura air purifiers were designed to prevent this.
